Policy Update during COVID-19
Due to increased efforts to protect our riders and employees during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) health emergency, DCTA has updated its Lost and Found policy until further notice.
Effective Monday, June 7, DCTA’s Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC) lobby is open to the general public for limited capacity. The DDTC lobby will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. During the midday break, the lobby will be sanitized and cleaned, but passengers can still purchase fare at the ticket counter during this time.
If you have lost a high priority item on DCTA property, you must first call the agency’s customer service team at 940.243.0077. DCTA will seal these priority items in bags but they will not be quarantined. A list of high priority items include:
- Purses/wallets
- Cellphones and laptops
- Prescription medication
- Prescription glasses
- Canes and walkers
- Keys
- Identification and bank cards
PLEASE NOTE: Backpacks and other large items will be quarantined for at least 14 days. DCTA is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen property.
If DCTA is in possession of your lost item(s) and can verify ownership, you may schedule a time to retrieve your item(s) at the DDTC located at 604 E. Hickory Street between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. When you arrive at the DDTC during your scheduled time to retrieve your personal item(s), proceed to the automatic door entrance on the north side facing Hickory Street. Notify the security guard that you have an appointment. You must have a photo ID available to show DCTA security.
If you are retrieving a lost ID, you must have another form of valid ID to confirm your date of birth and address. Once your identification has been verified, you will be allowed to enter DDTC lobby and directed to the ticket window to retrieve your personal item(s).
